Day care activities should be scheduled if you are dealing with different age groups. For instance, you could have the preschool activity while infants enjoy their naptime, and vice versa. The schedules should be flexible yet, most children are not always cooperative with your plans. Outdoor play is an important activity for all age groups, even for infants. Older children prefer games such as baseball, tag, or hide and seek while most children of any age group love to swing, slide, and play in the grass. Babies may simply enjoy the sunlight, as they need it for their growing bones.

When you plan carefully, you can easily find the appropriate day care activities for any age group you are working with. One key is to listen to the children, as they know what they want. If they enjoy certain day care activities, try to find other similar things to do or if not, look for alternatives. Even the most well intended day care activities will be worthless if you can’t make the children cooperate with you.
