Like archaeology, or paleontology, or cultural anthropology, forensic anthropology is a just subfield within anthropology.
Anthropology is defined as the study of humans and what it means to be human. Within this discipline there are four branches: Linguistic anthropology- the study of languages, Cultural anthropology-the study of a distinct culture that is currently alive, Archeology -the study of an extinct culture, and Physical anthropology-the study of human body’s; usually bones. A typical undergrad degree requires you study all four while concentrating on one. Forensic anthropology would fall under the physical anthropology section and very few undergrad programs will go into very much detail. There are a few graduate schools that have just this as a study.
Read this wikipedia section on forensic anthropology. This field deals with identifiying a body by different means that will hold up in a court of law.
